Gordon Van der Spuy believes we fly fishers can help save these endangered animals that are daily slaughtered by poachers because their horns fetch a huge price on Asian markets. He is an accomplished local fly tier who is the architect of an ambitious project where a variety of prominent fly tiers from around the world have agreed to contribute their flies for auction with the proceeds all going to Stop Rhino Poaching (www.stoprhinopoaching.com ), an organisation whose main objective is to secure existing populations of rhinos.
