A couple of pics I took while bumming around in RMNP. The Greenback Cutthroats were just incredible. Pure indigenous strain and one of the last remaining headwater reaches where they can be found. It entailed a 31/2 hour hike up to around 8900ft and a 40m slide on my ass to get to the stream. It was about 10ft wide and a foot deep. A depression the size of a hand basin was a honey-hole.

The guy I'm sitting in one of the pics is my friend Mike Clark (the bamboo uber-guru). We had a wonderful time fishing one of his "classified" waters.(Readers will recall Mike a a great friend of well known author John Gierach.)

This is a lovely reach of the Diepspruit River near Rhodes in the Eastern Cape. If we use the Photoshop Black point eye dropper tool and click it on the dark shadow area along the far bank, the picture jumps to life.
