AGOSTINO RONCALLO'S BRILLIANT NEW BOOK on tying with CDC

Agostino Roncallo, one of the world’s undisputed masters of CDC, has just released his latest book, IL CDC A MODO MIO. From the Italian this translates to My Way with CDC, a delightful title for one of the best produced instructional fly tying books I’ve yet seen.

Agostino kindly sent me one of the first off the press. Obviously it is written in Italian, but the good news for fly tiers the world over is that Agostino plans to have the book translated into English though I found the illustrations so complete, so detailed and of such high quality, that I was easily able to follow the step by step tying sequences for each of the 7plus CDC patterns he covers, including my all-time favourite CDC dry fly, the Mirage!

Agostino has CDC patterns covering all the major insect groups – caddis flies, adult mayflies, spinners and emergers, stoneflies, midges and terrestrials.

This is a marvellous reference work and, in my view, the best book yet published on CDC patterns and how to tie them.
