From Lauren Adcock and Sarah Boulton

The South African Game Fair is the country’s premier exhibition of country pursuits. Held annually in the picturesque and popular trout fishing town of Dullstroom, proceeds go to the Dullstroom Bird of Prey Centre which rehabilitates injured raptors.  It takes place annually over the last weekend of July (Saturday 30th through Sunday 31st), in mid winter so the days are crisp clear, dry days. The fair is held at the well known Dullstroom Bird of Prey Centre, just off the main highway, on the right as you enter the village from Belfast.

Visitors will have full access to the Raptor Centre, two Raptor flying displays, sheep dog and pointer demonstrations, fly tying, fly casting, trout and game cookery, renowned fishing artists and taxidermists, international fly fishing destination providers, knife makers, black powder and archery demos including free tuition and tryouts. Leading fly fishing brands including Orivs, Hardy, Stealth and Xplorer will be displaying their full product range and offering 30% off for the weekend only. There will be a 5-weight shoot out, and you can test the very best Orvis, Hardy, Sage, Loomis, Stealth and Xplorer 9 foot 5 weights.
