Carmen and I took a trip up to the Eastern Sierras this weekend and stayed up at 9000 ft at a small cabin. We hiked up to Treasure Lakes at about 11000 ft which holds some breathtaking views and even more breathtaking fishing. From our research, the lake and the surrounding creeks hold Golden Trout and fishing them did not disappoint. Caught some stunning little trout and I’m sure if we'd stooped to fishing nymphs we would have bagged a couple of bigger specimens. All I can say is if you love fly fishing this is where you want to be.
Before coming back home (six hour drive) we stopped off at Hot Creek. Well, it didn’t disappoint. Got eight fish to come to the dry and took a small rainbow and a beautiful brown.
